Get Crafty With A Pillow Pattern

If you just can’t get enough pillows, you may want to consider making your own unique pillows with a pillow pattern. Not only does a pillow pattern enable you to save money, but you can also create one of a kind pillows that match your décor perfectly.

Before you shop for a pillow pattern, you should take a moment to think about your sewing expertise. If you’ve never tried to sew before, a pillow is a great way to start, but be sure to look for a pattern that is easy to use. Some patterns are created just for beginning sewers. If you have some experience with sewing, you should be able to handle more complicated patterns easily.

While you are selecting your pillow pattern, why not pick up your fabric, embellishments and pillow inserts at the same time? This way, you can easily check your pattern to see how much of each item you will need. Keep in mind that fabrics with plaids and stripes often are harder to work with. If you choose one of these fabric designs, buy a bit more fabric than the pattern calls for.

Finally, remember that buying one pillow pattern doesn’t mean that you can’t make a lot of different pillows. You can make the pattern look completely different by choosing different fabrics and trims.
